Philosophy for Children (P4C)
Philosophy for Children (P4C) is an inquiry-based educational approach that encourages children to ask questions, reason, and reflect deeply on ideas. Through dialogue, stories, and collaborative thinking activities, children discuss concepts such as justice, truth, knowledge, and responsibility.
The program develops children's intellectual curiosity while supporting independent thinking and the ability to evaluate different views with respect.
Scope
This program focuses on the four thinking skills at the core of the P4C approach: critical thinking, creative thinking, collaborative thinking, and caring thinking. Through philosophical stories, group discussions, and reflective exercises, children learn to question assumptions, justify their ideas, and understand the thoughts of others.
Learning Outcomes
Students gain the ability to question ideas, express their thoughts clearly, and participate in respectful discussions. They build confidence in evaluating different perspectives, justifying their ideas, and forming meaningful dialogue.
